The cottage lies 200 meters from the village centre and a similar distance from Falkland Estate with its miles of woodland trails and cycle paths.

Falkland Palace dominates the heart of the village. It is an impressive Renaissance 13th century building and set in the heart of the town at the foot of the Lomond Hills. The influence of the palace design is

reflected in a number of buildings near the centre of the village.

Elsewhere former weaving cottages provide a reminder of a pre-industrial way of life.

Three pubs serving food are complimented by two restaurants. The village also benefits from a bank and cash machine, grocer, baker, post office, coffee shop, hair dressers, gift shops and an antique shop. Public transport and taxis serve the village.

And finally a lovely wee sequence of dolphins larking about in the Forth (20 minutes from the cottage).

Thanks to EastPierSmokehouse. Hoping to eat there shortly. It is getting big wow reviews.
